With a name like BloomBoss you know you are in for a light that is specifically designed to grow plants (mainly vegetables). This light is one of the more popular LED grow lights found at Amazon.com. It’s popular for two reasons: (1) it works and (2) it is relatively low priced (as far as LED growing technology goes). LED grow lights can be expensive, but the BloomBoss UFO 90 watt light is a great way to get your feet wet with this new, promising technology.
Specifications According to the Manufacturer
One thing that almost all plant growers love about LED growing technology is that it uses a very small amount of energy. The 90W BloomBoss UFO is no exception. Now, many extreme LED enthusiasts are going to tell you that a 90 watt LED light is equivalent to a 400 watt MH or HPS light. Whether this is true or not is a subject of debate. Like most arguments, there is probably some truth to the matter, but we personally think this might be a slight exaggeration. This light will give you more juice than you would get out of a normal 90 watt light, but how much more juice is a subject for debate.

Advantages of BloomBoss UFO Light
This UFO light has both a blue spectrum and a red spectrum of light. In the early days of LED grow lights many people considered LED lights as simply supplemental lights; meaning you pulled out the big dogs (the HIDs) when you wanted to really get growing, but you could pull out the LEDs when you wanted some help with flowering (red light) or even vegetating (blue light). Those days are coming to an end. While it is true that in some situations LED lights still work great as supplements, these days they work just fine as your main growing light. This light has a nice mix of blue and red light that makes sure the light will get the job done in an efficient manner.
How To Best Use the BloomBoss UFO LED Grow Light
This light should work for pretty much any type of plant you want to grow because of its light spectrum. The manufacturer recommends putting the light anywhere from 6 to 24 inches away from the plants you are trying to grow. Six inches probably seems close to some of you traditional HID light users. The truth is that it is quite close. However, you have to remember that these LED lights don’t put off near as much heat as HID lights.
So how far away should you place your BloomBoss UFO light? Well we would personally recommend around 12-14 inches away if you want your plants to thicken up. If you really want your plants to stretch start moving the light farther and farther away.

Disadvantages of LED UFO 90 W BloomBoss Light
The one concern we have with this BloomBoss is that the manufacturer claims the light will cover nine square feet. Well, that is probably a bit of an exaggeration. We believe the light probably covers close to half of that if you want your plants to produce well. You are safer going with four square feet when using this light.

This is one of the few LED growing lights that has not received any negative reviews from Amazon. This is probably the reason it’s one of their best-selling LED grow lights. The people that have used this light have been impressed with it compared to other UFO lights. People who use the light are noticing that their plants are a darker green color than when they use traditional HID lights.
Users of this light are pretty happy overall with the energy savings and the low heat output. They do mention that the fans on these little guys can be a little on the loud side, but not to the point that it is a deal-breaker.

Led grow lights are seeing significant growth year over year. I don’t see it slowing down the way society is moving with everyone being green and trying to save money. The difference between led lights and hps is night and day. Led lights are everywhere now, not just in indoor growing. You go to wal-mart and you’ll see the walk way solar led lights. It’s pretty amazing how they’ve gained such great popularity so quickly.
